Having used InfoSelect since Version 1 for DOS, I've always used "G" for global search. Later versions I had to set it to old settings... G for "Get" if I recall the literature correctly. I touch type by thinking, wouldn't even have to guess at a key I'm pressing, but I can't hit the right "F" key to save my life. Can't see them worth a damn either. (Poor lighting, bad eyes) While I know the "F" keys thing is popular for many programs to search, it doesn't work for me. While in tree mode, just hit "g" (window pops up) and keep typing while watching the selected notes reduce with each letter you type. Hit 'g' again to toggle off the search if you haven't selected a note. But, being practical, if that request is too difficult how about a few one or two key combinations that are programmable? Also, while I haven't tried every skin yet they are either too dim and pastel or blindingly contrasting. I'm probably just getting too old to see well...
Global search shortcut & more

I agree, shortcuts for all functions would be great. Some programs have a utility (ALT-K) that allows you to create a hot key shortcut for any and all menu items, which makes the program entirely customizable. A great thing!
I wish "G" instead of F5 or F6 was the way to start a AMN search. My laptop requires me to hit the FN key to access any function keys, which is a pain. And, like Aegiswiz, I have trouble seeing function keys at the top of my keyboard. The overhang of my desk darkens the whole row.
BTW, we have also keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+S it's easy to press it with left hand only.
